Paul Quero
Hi! My name is Paul and my interests lie toward the Post-Production Audio side of the film industry. I have always enjoyed watching and creating films but always gravitate towards their audio. It is often the first thing I notice and talk about when it comes to films. And that eventually led to working with audio in post-production. I have two years of experience working Pro Tools and have recently dabbled in the use of other DAW's such as FL Studio and Ableton. I have been sound editor for various student projects and have experience working with audio through location sound mixing and ADR work. I am always looking to improve my skills in audio post-production as storytelling through audio is what I'm truly obsessed with.

Károly "Charlie" Rucska
My name is Károly Rucska, but please just call me Charlie. I am 4th semester student at SAIT on the Film and Video Production course, while working as a freelance photographer part time. My passion for photography started about 10 years ago, and since than I take every chance to pick up the camera. Before moving to Canada, I was doing freelance photography in London, UK, where I also received my degree in photography at London Metropolitan University. Since starting at SAIT, I have been working part time as one of the staff photographers for the SAIT Trojans, which gave me the opportunity to learn about the local culture and introduced me to many interesting people. More recently, I have photographed a few events in Calgary, TEDx Calgary or the CIRI Market opening event, SAIT convocations and more. There are many reasons why I enjoy photography and videography, but ultimately it comes down to one thing: discovery. The discovery of new places and people, being present and experiencing, documenting life as it happens. In my opinion, regardless of a location, a professionals’ attention to detail should be always up to a high standard. Framing and exposing an image to the best of our ability, while staying engaged with the subject can be a sure recipe for success.

Thomas H. Smith
Thomas H. Smith is a half Canadian half Vietnamese aspiring filmmaker. Thomas is 19 years old, graduated highschool and began attending SAIT when he was 17, and lives in Airdrie. In terms of experience in film, Thomas has had the pleasure of getting to write and direct a five minute documentary about an escapee’s journey from Communist Vietnam to Canada following the Vietnam War. However his largest claim to experience in film and video making has got to be his YouTube channel. Since 2021 Thomas has run his own YouTube channel named after him, Thomas H. Smith, and it has amassed over 54.6K subscribers and 34,897,060 views and counting. He edits, researches, and gathers all the footage himself and it has given him hundred, nay thousands, of hours of editing experience. Granted he has not uploaded any new videos since July 2024, but it still has given him hours of experience.

Ashley Szutiak
Hi! My name is Ashley Szutiak. I have always had a strong love for storytelling through many different forms, which has included dance, theatre, writing, and now of course film! I have always had a strong pull towards film as it is an art form that has the ability to make an experience that is shared, but it is also able to create an intimate setting that can be defined as a personal experience between an audience member and the characters on screen. I have been very lucky to have done different roles and experience many different departments while attending SAIT, including directing our third semester documentary "Mackay's: A Scoop of Cochrane." Additionally, I have worked as script supervisor, Second assistant camera, and production assistant on various independent sets. A collection of which were filmed by me and my fellow classmates over the summer and screened at the Globe Cinema. Another major role while at SAIT was the opportunity to work on educational comparative videos consisting of digital cameras as well as 16 and 35 millimeter analogue film cameras for our capstone class. I worked as Co-producer as well as first assistant camera to all three cameras while shooting. From that experience, I am now equipped with the ability to load and unload 16 and 35 millimeter film magazines and am very happy to be carrying knowledge of a classic film and art technique. I look forward to being a part of future projects and telling more stories that spread inspiration and the love of movies.
