Isaac Adams

Good day, I'm Isaac and I don't have a lot going for me. I write comedy screenplays, sketches, and everything in between. I also perform improv which to put it in normal terms, I embarrass myself on stage in front of a live audience. Making people laugh through the art of comedy is a big passion of mine and something I hope to do professionally. If you do hire me, I'll have to let my secretary know to clear my schedule. That was a joke of course. I can't afford a secretary. I can barely afford shaving cream.

I am a passionate and driven production designer with a strong background in fine arts, which has provided me with a solid foundation in visual creativity, composition, and design. My journey in the field has led me to work on a diverse range of projects that have been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. One of the most memorable experiences in my career was working on Buckethead, where I had the opportunity to create a sci-fi effect on an actor’s neck, blending special effects and production design to achieve a visually stunning result. Another key project was the short film Stumbling Over the Chair, where I had the chance to focus on intricate details in the set design, working with different colors and elements to create a scene that was visually captivating and supported the film’s narrative. Every choice, from the props to the lighting, was carefully considered to enhance the story, and the experience taught me the importance of precision in every aspect of production design. Another standout project was Sustainability Simplified: The Arbor Story, which had a profound personal impact on me. Working with the team behind this project, who started from humble beginnings in a basement and grew into a well-known name in sustainability, was both inspiring and fulfilling. It was a privilege to be a part of telling their incredible journey, and I hope to continue sharing stories like theirs that inspire others to chase their dreams. In addition, I had the opportunity to work with a production company as a set designer for a live television show. The fast-paced, high-energy nature of live TV presented a unique set of challenges, and it was exciting to contribute to the creation of a visually dynamic environment that engaged the audience. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of the technical side of production and taught me how to adapt quickly to ever-changing circumstances. Each of these projects has contributed to my growth as a designer, and my background in fine arts has allowed me to approach every project with a creative and technical eye. I believe in the power of collaboration and am always eager to work with innovative and creative minds to bring stories to life. I’m excited for the future and the opportunities that lie ahead, and I look forward to continuing to work on projects that push boundaries and inspire others.

I am an emerging filmmaker specializing in producing and cinematography, driven by my view of film as a business and an art form. During my time at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), I've produced two shorts of note, Petrov and Breaking the Ice, on an elevated level of what is expected from students. Though these are student shorts, it has given me a peek at what producing can be, and I’m eager to make new experiences doing this. I’ve also been privileged to work on Scoops of Perseverance as a cinematographer, merging my love for lights and cameras to create something beautiful and reflective of the story’s intention. Fueled by a strong work ethic and dedication to excellence, I strive to bring passion and commitment to every project. Filmmaking is what I envision as my lifelong career. My goal is to work in this industry, learn from experienced people, and soon take on more responsibility. I have been able to prove a track record of success and excellence at SAIT, and I'm excited to take that to the real world.

Jace Byford

I'm Jace Byford, and I'm a Calgary-based filmmaker, im obsessed with editing. I've been piecing together visual stories since I was 12, and my love for horror has only fueled my creative fire. I love the puzzle-solving aspect of editing – taking individual shots and crafting them into a bigger picture, a chilling atmosphere, or a gut-wrenching punchline. I'm currently working towards a professional editing career, with my sights set on two companies, and I might even be collaborating with them by the time this screening happens. My dedication to filmmaking is evident in my recent work. Last summer, my crew of close friends and I created six independent short films. I acted in three, wrote and edited two, and even produced and directed my own short film, ""POTHEAD,"" a schlocky B-horror flick that blends 70s absurdity with a touch of grief. This ambitious project culminated in a self-hosted screening at Calgary's iconic Globe Theatre. I'm always creating, always pushing my boundaries, and always ready to share my passion with the world. Let's connect!

AJ Carrell

Growing up in a small town out in the woods of Northern Alberta I’ve been exposed to many recreational working environments which has forced me to learn how to think outside of the box. So being in a situation where you have to make something with only the things around me is an environment I’m very familiar with. Throughout my life I’ve tried basically every creative thing around, I’ve acted on stage, I can play musical instruments, but nothing I’ve tried has ever matched my interest and love for the world of filmmaking. Directing, writing, and acting are the jobs I’ve felt the most at home with against any other, and ever since coming to Sait I’ve grown a ton of interest and joy for things like special effects involving pyro, fire, smoke, along with props and bringing cool items and things to reality. I started out making small skits in my basement but now I strive to make bigger and better things that will blow everyone’s minds.

Jackson Paul Clarke

Hi, I’m Jackson, and I’m the president of the club that’s putting this whole thing on! I wear a lot of hats in film, but my passion is sound work. I’ve been a musician since a very young age, and sound and music have always been a major part of my life. When I came into film school, I did so with the goal of finding my niche, and location sound work quickly revealed itself to be the answer. I’ve boomed on several projects at SAIT, and been location sound mixer for many more, both at SAIT, and professionally. Outside of location sound, I enjoy directing documentaries, sound post production, foley, voice acting, and writing. Themes of particular interest to me include community, resistance, and transhumanism. A few things I love include Batman, the works of Willem Dafoe, and Lord of the Rings.
