After her dying mother makes her promise to “keep Ryder safe,” Jensen gives up her dreams to raise her teenage brother. While at a remote cabin with her brother and her uncle, a grinning entity from the woods possess Ryder, causing him to kill his uncle and attack Jensen. She escapes, then when she returns back to her uncles body vows to save and protect her brother.
