Mikayla Knapp

Mikayla first found a passion for filmmaking after growing up making home videos, and watching the behind the scenes of films, which opened their eyes to how movies are made. While at SAIT, Mikayla has learned how much more is involved in creating films and how hard individuals work to achieve their vision. And how cool it is to see the end result, and knowing that it was worth all the work everyone put into it. With ambitions to work in the Camera Department, Mikayla has lined up a position to be a 2nd AC on a film post graduation. Mikayla also tends to gravitate towards other roles, such as Grip or Gaffer, and plans on moving onto pursuing Screenwriting after starting a family.

Mikayla’s favourite movies of all time are the Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001; 2002; 2003), but also likes the movies Mask of Zorro (1998), and Count of Monte Cristo (2002). And in terms of favourite directors, Mikayla loves the directorial styles of both Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino.
