Isaac Paulhus

Isaac first got into filmmaking because they have always enjoyed telling stories, and film both as a visual and auditory medium is a great place to tell them. They became inspired to take the FVP program because they love seeing the hard work that goes into making movies and they wanted to be a part of it. Their time here at SAIT has given them even more respect for movies, seeing first hand how much work goes into every little detail. They love being able to watch something and just feel the passion and talent from the creators in every frame. Leaving this program more ambitious than they were before, Isaac aspires to become a show runner and have their own animated series made in the future, with their ultimate dream being to get a show made. After they graduate, and with plans on working in the industry, they would like to work their way towards doing what they love, wanting to write when they can, or design costumes if possible. They’re sure that whatever they end up doing, that they’ll enjoy it so long as they are making movies with talented folks, like they have been able to do here.

Isaac’s favourite movies are The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001; 2002; 2003) and The Hobbit trilogy (2012; 2013; 2014), with their favourite director being Taika Waititi, as they like his visual and comedic style.
