Cynthia Stephany

Cynthia found a passion for filmmaking after seeing Mad Max: Fury Road back in 2015 at the theatres. They were blown away by the story and practical effects, and ever since, they have wanted to make or write films. Cynthia has found that she tends to gravitate towards roles such as Art Director/Set Decoration, or Writing. Her love for the practical side of things when it comes to the vision of the film has allowed for her to grow their interest in the Art Department. Leaving this program, they have a newfound respect for how movies are made, and have learnt that they want to do the things that they’re interested in, such as art, and tailor that to a position in industry. After graduation, Cynthia plans on completing her degree, and would also like to look for tattoo apprenticeships or send her writing works to various online journals for publication.

Cynthia’s favourite movies are Lady Bird (2017), Max Max: Fury Road (2015), The 400 Blows (1959), Pulse (2001), Dreams (1990), and Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), with favourite directors being Agnes Varda, Greta Gerwig, and Guillermo del Toro.
